HIGHER BRANCHES

Higher Branches is a non-profit Christian ministry center located in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine District. The community room is the primary space and is located adjacent to the street entrance which allows for maximum visibility and connection to the community. The olive branch, a symbol of peace and friendship, was used as a basis for creating the mural which serves as the primary focal point in the space. The hues of an olive established the color palette. The community room was designed for optimal flexibility for activities such as dance classes, bible studies, educational presentations and outreach gatherings. “Mobile kiosks” are utilized for work surface, beverage serving, and display purposes. Russian birch plywood was selected for cabinets and furnishings to compliment the natural color palette. The suspended “wood cloud” light elements reduce the scale of the room and create intimate areas within the larger context.
